Removing Children from Adult Prisons

Under international human rights law no child may be incarcerated in adult correctional facilities. Accordingly, the U.S. has been urged to adopt laws which prohibit any child under the age of 18 from serving “pre-trial confinement or custodial sentences under the adult correctional system or any form of adult facility.”
